Where can I get these woodwork supplies?

Question : Where can I get these woodwork supplies?
I want to make a 5′ 5″ quarterpipe out of wood for skateboarding, (you know, a mini ramp) and I need to know which shops to go to (like Home Depot, no locals, and if you have to list a type of store, please give examples of what store) to get these supplies (note: I am not very familar with woodworking, screws, etc. so please help out if you have created anything like a wooden ramp before):
3 to 5 sheets of plywood
3 to 5 sheets of Masonite
at least 12 2x4s
a steel or any metal round pipe
any screw (please tell me which one’s best for the job), and long
nails (not sure which ones to pick)
also, please estimate how much this will cost.

If anyone has built a wooden ramp before, please help out with this. Thank you!

Your first idea is a good one…all of those supplies are available at Home Depot. Go there with your idea drawn (in detail) on paper. There will be someone there who can recommend the correct screws and or nails for your project and they will also be able to give you a cost estimate. Your local area has local prices, there is no way to figure that out on your behalf. You’ll have to do the leg work yourself instead of typing! Good luck on your ramp!

My husband is a custom woodwork finisher. Do you think there would be enough work to start a business?

Question : My husband is a custom woodwork finisher. Do you think there would be enough work to start a business?
He has worked in custom cabinet shops for the past 8 years, as supervisor for the last 5. He is considering starting a business that offers a finishing service. He doesn’t want to do re-finishing. Do you think there would be enough work? Upside and downside of business? Please tell me any information you can think of. He would do onsite work or finish and bring to the home. We live about an hour north of Atlanta.
I knew I should have said more. He isn’t a finish carpenter…he’s a finisher.
