Question : Do you figure mortgage payments for a 2nd mortgage the same as for a 1st mortgage? We’re about to close on a house and we have a 1st mortgage, and then a 2nd to pay some of the down payment. This avoids PMI.

If I plug the numbers into a mortgage payment calculator, the 1st mortgage payment is the same as the one on the TIL the lender provided. But the 2nd payment isn’t – the calculators all say it’s less than what the lender is saying.

Is there a different mortgage payment calculator for a 2nd? 2nd mortgage

Question : Are the closing fees to refinance a house the same as the initial closing fees when I first bought the house? We have been in our house for about a year now. We own about 250K on the mortgage. One year ago when we got in the house the closing fees were about $ 7,500. I am about to refinance now the closing fees will be about the same as when I bought the house. Is this normal? We have an FHA loan and are doing the governments FHA Streamline refinance. Question : Will my mortgage payment be the same or will it change after closing? I live in Texas. I will be closing on my $ 100k home on June 16, 2008. My mortgage lender quoted me that my monthly payments will be estimated at $ 1019 including escrow,insurance,taxes,and pmi. What I’m asking is that when the time comes at closing and I provide my insurance coverage certificate, will this change my monthly payments? Or will it be the same?
