What are resources for condos / senior citizens when building manager says recycling is too costly?
3Question : What are resources for condos / senior citizens when building manager says recycling is too costly?
My grandmother (in her early 80s) lives not in assisted living but in a very active senior condo building in Bergen Co. New Jersey. She mentions to me how guilty she feels not recycling but when they’ve asked about recycling they’re told it is too expensive to implement in the buildings.
Bergen County’s solid waste website has a few publications re: recycling in businesses, hazardous waste disposal, and composting. I’m wondering (since I don’t live near my grandmother) if there might be encouraging ideas such as collecting just newspapers or other specific items, or working with a local school to have the recycling collected, or some other creative and easy to implement idea?
My only other thought is to call the town’s recycling coordinator to see what ideas/resources they may have or have previously used.

The monthly condo fee should cover things like recycling.
The tenants should get together and question the condo association about how and where their fees are being spent.
Recycling container: Everyone is doing the action
0We now have a way of life, reforms in our responsibility to the environment. We offer activities that well-being, our life and our environment to promote balance. We therefore make a choice and implement ideas, conservation, restoration and protection.
The most common and most believe that each can recycle.
From the simple separation of non-biodegradable materials for reuse old boxes for storage and travel, we want our fair share of the defense. It can not only help the environment, but it can also be a part of our household expenses. While this is not a large sum, is the one that support for the reuse of old stuff for a different function entirely happy with the plot and not their monetary value.
Here are some reasons why people use recycled boxes for storage and travel:
1. It reduces waste, because funds are used more than once. So it can be recycled.
2 Use of recycled cans saves about 17 million gallons of trees and water (U.S. Department of Energy). 3 Recycling boxes have the same quality and strength of the new boxes if it is damaged and irreparable. 4 There is a growing demand for old boxes that can economically benefit social communities or nonprofit organizations. And here are some statistics about recycling * in the U.S. alone are gathered:
1. 251 million – tons of trash in
U.S.
2 53.4 – Percentage of all recycled paper products in the U.S.
3 32.5 – percentage of total waste recycled in the U.S.
4 approximate percentage of the increase in total recycling in the U.S. during the last decade

5 8660 – Number of curbside programs in the United States in 2006
6 95 – percentage of energy that can be recycled aluminum to a new
stored 7th 4,6 – kilos of waste per person per day in the U.S. (the world)
8 1.5 – pounds of material per person per day in the U.S.
Recycling
Imagine the numbers of the product when you consider the days and the population in the United States … and what’s more, if you follow the rest of the world total.
Fortunately, it’s not just us who the action. Companies, paper products such as notebooks, new impressions, and corrugated board boxes producer, the corporate social responsibility and the environment through the production of recycled products for sale.
companies like
Box Discount Supply, a company in Chicago clubs in the manufacture and recycling of corrugated boxes, packaging boxes, mailing supplies and defenders in love the concept of recycling and . sell
in particular, produced apart from the environmental benefits of buying recycled boxes is much cheaper than buying a new box from real tree pulp.
recycled by a representative of the company, its products called wavy. And he, Jeff Giedt, scales, information on the composition of recycled boxes:
“These corrugated boxes are supposedly” environmentally correct “because it can be recycled into new cans and other products of this. image is largely justified, since the content of recycled corrugated cardboard is
generally the highest of all paper in 1997, it produced was 66 percent and rising. from While corrugated products are often re-used, and the majority is recycled, some boxes corrugated end up as waste in landfills.
recycled to produce and recycled linerboard corrugated many both preconsumer and post consumer old corrugated containers (OCC). Preconsumer waste corrugated materials such as trim out-of-box and cylinders. paper covers boxes that were used for transport and then discarded. In 1997, producers of pulp and paper more than 16 million tons of OCC uses to make new containers, while another 3.7 million tons were exported are of OCC.
standard corrugated boxes for recycling is relatively easy because they are easily printed and little or no deinking. The paste obtained from the OCC needs cleaning and will not be bleached. Unlike many grades of recycled paper suffers OCC minimal fiber strength and other physical properties. But there is a limit to the number of fibers can even be recycled. for example tend Asia corrugated boxes, which have repeatedly returned because of the shortage of virgin fiber paper in these countries are weaker and less resistant water than corrugated boxes in the United States. The quality of Asian OCC fiber is so low that many U.S. recycling plants exclude to it from their processes. “
In Indeed, recycling is essential. And I hope that we participate in these efforts and their commitment to saving us, our families and our environment.

Crafts Green Recycling plastic CD container storage practical and fashionable ideal for Free
0you or someone you know, like your kids, your spouse or colleagues, packages of blank CDs for the reception to buy? If so, you can not throw the plastic tray they come in lockable CD before you have a chance and see for yourself what can be done to a handy storage container in the garage, workstation, crafts or for other purposes.
Like most people, the packages from CD recording or computer data backup has now thrown cylindrical tank years ago, I also get them outside in my case for the trash. I thought that as long as the tank has been recycled to meet again for something useful, it would be good enough. Then it dawned on me like the proverbial light bulb goes over the top. Why not the bathtub as a CD reservoir , which is not very durable, but it is irreversible, when the top back on?in his garage by turning the pot on the bottom of a shelf, and then simply turn the jar full of screws, washers, garage or other small object attached to the lid. We use the same principle when it comes to CD storage tank by turning it upside down to storage, the use normally the upper transparent. With a few small screws are easy to drill and fix the flat on the floor of a high level, we have a perfect storage container. You can easily label the clear part of the tank, but it really is pointless, as you can see are completely satisfied. What makes this CD better tank as a storage container from a glass that is that the opening is much larger. You do not get your fingers in the pot fight what you need, or empty the contents on to do the same.
or not, add your container storage / strong> at the bottom of a shelf, consider some of the items you can save:Gemstones Beads Craft Fasteners Screws Washers Nails clips rubber bands
The list can go on and on. It is economical, practical, and it is perfectly logical. Use it in the garage, workstation crafts, office, or at any other place where you will not find one.

Home Staging & Recycling in Orlando, Florida Central Area
0As a home stager in Orlando, Florida, Central Area, I am constantly meeting with suppliers to advise them how to sell their house, which has to prepare a buyer’s market. I look critically at the areas, both inside and outside to determine what needs to be done to transform their home into a marketable “product to be sold.
Although each property is unique, there are guidelines principles for sale in the preparation of any home, must be starting with “D” list. . . Deep Clean, depersonalize and declutter, Declutter, Declutter, and more! This includes kitchen and bathroom cabinets, closets, drawers, bed and breakfast, which was used as a bedroom / office / junk room. . . Basement, garage. . . I will continue? There are currently, I get this part of my clients usually review their decision to move!
One of the biggest problems facing the daunting task of decluttering is deciding what to do with all the “stuff”! You know. . . Piano from Grandma that nobody plays, the chartreuse chair that no one on the right for him and her bicycles that are no longer mounted. . . and my favorite – as on the treadmill, which doubles as a wardrobe in a forgotten corner of the bedroom! I understand we all have “stuff” to separate the really hard fact. . . “It’s just too good to throw away”, right. . .?
I am very happy to share with you the solution. . . freecycle.org go to the Freecycle Network group near you to find. You are given a basic and entirely nonprofit movement of people (and get), “stuff” for free in their own towns. Freecycle Network is composed of different groups from all over the world came together to “recycle” unwanted items. You give everything away, instead of throwing them away out and do their part by taking care of mother earth at the same time! Freecycle Network began in 2003 when Deron Beal, a vision and e-mail 30-40 friends and a handful of non-profit in Tucson, Arizona had. He is now worldwide in 75 countries and 4041 communities, and has 3,540,995 members. . . and continues to grow. Following their efforts they were more than 300 tonnes of waste per day to keep our landfills. They only have three main rules for participation: everything must be free to all be legal, and everything must be suitable for all age groups. By freely, without any conditions, the members of the Freecycle network is a sense of generosity of spirit instilled in their communities.
As a Home Stager, I could communicate this information to customers, who are numerous in the decluttering effort was their homeland, a marketable product, “giving more. But I urge each of us to join members of the Freecycle network to meet people from all walks of life, transforming the waste have treasure in improving our environment.
Remember when decluttering. . . Think green, think globally, and “recycling” on the spot. Happy recovery!
