requirements:they are required to be a graduate of an accredited healthcare professional program in the united states or canada. additionally, they have to attend certain programs available for nursing professionals with eighteen or more monthes of clinical experiance you also need to provide a valid professional practice license or certification.

L and D is a hard field to break into because so many people want to stay there. It does not have to be an accredited school as long as you pass boards and have some med surg experience. You need to be an RN not an LPN and an associates RN is fine. Oh and the pay is much higher than that. Base pay at our cheap hospital is 38/hr that is straight dayshift, their is shift differential and whip weekend programs.
