Question : I’m having a bit of trouble with my Samsung cell phone (from T-Mobile).?
Normally, it is acceptable for a phone to drop a few calls in bad areas. However, my phone has a bad habit of not even picking up calls every so often, mostly at night when I’m commuting home from work (on a trolley; don’t worry, I’m not driving and talking on my cell simultaneously).
I would call and I’d wait for the ringing signal and then the phone would just drop the call altogether, leaving me to find a pay phone afterward.
The phone is already a year old. I thought it was all the photos I took with it (it has a camera phone feature) but most of those have been deleted. I don’t text message AT ALL. Every picture I take with the phone ends up in an “album” in my phone and I don’t know if all those photos could be preventing me from making calls (too much memory but last time I checked, I had plenty of it; for some reason, I can’t delete the photos from my “album” in my phone).
I want to take the phone in but I think it may be past the 1 yr. warranty. Any ideas?
When it drops the calls, it’s normally in a really good area with good reception.
Well, it didn’t used to be like this. I got great reception almost everywhere I went but now my phone either will work or won’t work.
And it would drop calls in places I normally would be able to use the phone normally.

i have a samsung and tmobile and it sounds to me more like bad reception more than the phone. you might not be getting good signal on that route.

Question : Need help installing phone system for office?
I have a Samsung iDCS 100 phone system that was installed in my office. I have since moved and am trying to re-install the system at my new location. I have two new phone numbers from the Telco. I would like to hookup 2 phones into a dual jack (each being able to access both new phone numbers)to the system. One of the movers disconnected the system from the old office and did not make note of the wires coming from the NID onto the 66 block; although he did take the 2 blocks with the system. The blocks are labeled #1 and #2 and connect to amp cable into the system box. Punch block #1 has all of the wires from the #1 amp cable punched onto the left side of the block….as does punch block #2. I have the 2 pairs from the Telco coming into a closet where the phone system is located.
My questions:
Where exactly do I punch the 2 lines onto the block coming from the Telco?
Where exactly do I punch each individual phone unit onto the block?
Is this second block necessary and should be part of this install?
Does this sytem require any special jack requirements other than RJ11 to hook up each phone?
I have run CAT 5e to the jack to be installed.
I have attempted to install this and have been able to power up the phones. I did this by connecting the Tip (wht/blue) and Ring wires (blue/wht) from the phone itself onto the right side of the block opposite the pair wht/blue and blue/wht from the sytem amp cable utlizing rows #1 and #2.
I have been unable to get the line lights on the phone itself to light up as if to indicate their is a Telco connection.
What gives?
Does this system require programming o the phone in order to accept a line?
Thanks in advance! Any expertise would be much appreciate.

Have you tried to connect a regular phone to the new phone lines ?
get a phone line tester.
It’s $ 5 at home depot.
It will let you label the wires. when it lights green, you have the two right wires. if it lights red, you need to reverse the two wires.
Once you have your two pairs labelled, it should not be too difficult to hookup the two ouside lines of the phone system.

The Obamas, Barack and Michelle both, pretty much diplomatically botched the recent visit of British Prime Minister Gordon Brown and his wife. Oddly enough, the U.S. Old Media seems uninterested in the story that is a hot topic in England, a story that’s left many Brits a bit miffed.
As the visit of the national leader of our closest ally began, the President informed the Brits that he wouldn’t be attending the joint press conference that was planned to be held once PM Brown’s plane touched down. This threw the visiting delegation into a tizzy leaving them scrambling to explain the sudden change in plans to the folks back home. Still, meetings were had and things smoothed out. Eventually the visit seemed to right itself… then came the Obama’s gift gaffes.
It is well understood that visiting diplomatic delegations come bearing gifts and gift giving is returned in like fashion by the host country. It is an ages old human practice in diplomacy after all. Usually the gifts are valuable, representative of the products of the nations involved, or at least symbolic of the history of those nations.
For his part, PM Brown gave two symbolic gifts and one that expressed national pride. Brown came bearing a pen holder carved from the timbers of the sister ship of that which gave the wood to create the famous “Resolute Desk,” the desk that has been in America’s charge since 1880. He also gave Obama the framed commission for that famous ship, the HMS Resolute. His third gift was a seven-volume biography of one of England’s greatest leaders, Winston Churchill.
So, what did President Obama give the British PM? 25 movies on DVD. Yeah, that’s it. Brown gives a symbolic gift like the pen holder fashioned from a famous British warship and Obama responds by sending a staffer to WalMart to pick up a few quick movies.
How thoughtful. Or not.
And I’m not the only one to scoff at this thoughtless gift. The entire British press is up in arms. Many in Britain are seeing this as entirely gauche and indicative of the low esteem in which the Obama’s hold England.
Worse, no one is 100% sure that Obama was smart enough to know that DVDs made in America don’t play on European DVD players. American DVDs are created in the “Region One” format while those in Europe play in “Region Two” format. A U.S. DVD just won’t play on a machine made for the English market.
HAHA, Brits flat out calling Obama stupid.
