Question : Where can I find free help creating a web page for a developing non-profit organization?
I am writing on behalf of a recently created student organization at a graduate school in NYC. Our organization seeks to work with the NY foster care system and provide mentorship to youths in group homes. We are directing our attention to those youths who are the least likely to be adopted for various reasons and seek to provide a stable and encouraging relationship. This is a needed and worthwhile endeavor.

We are in the initial stages of designing various fundraising initiatives to support the goals of our organization. We need someone to help create and design our webpage to help with our fundraising goals. I am capable of basic web-design and have a rough idea of what would be needed but am leery of taking on what should be a professional job.

We have no current budget for this but if our fundraising drive is successful we would be able to engage someone on a permanent basis as the webmaster.

If anybody knows where I can get some help, it would be very much appreciated.

Question : Free Office Space for a Non-profit organization?
Does anyone know who may offer free office space in the DC area for an AIDS foundation. We really only need about 500 sf. to get started.

Most nonprofits PAY RENT for the spaces they occupy unless they own the building. If you are 501(c)(3) registered, you could try to contact local realtors and see if they are aware of any renters who would be interested in donating space to your organization. You can also contact local AIDS organizations and see if they know of any donor companies that might be open to your request, or if they have space they can let you use. Religious organizations may have space also.

That’s probably too much space to get donated. Many organizations will give you a desk but 2000sf is a building. Go after grant funds for somehting like that.
