Question : My neighbor’s house is vacant X3 yrs. How can I get him to sell with a realtor for a fair price?
I live in Amherst New York and he now lives in Colorado. He is not maintaining his property and currently does not have his property listed. He has tried selling it before with a realtor but he’s asking too much. I heard if your home owners knows that your house is vacant they’ll double your insurance. How do I find out his home owners insurance?

I doubt you can find out who is home owner insurance is, IF he has home owners insurance.

As long as he is paying the taxes on the property there is probably not much you can do to force him to sell the property.

You could probably complain to the city or village, or county which ever applies about the upkeep of the property. Which if the local authorities have the upkeep done or fines those who do not upkeep their property that could prompt him to list and sell at a real price.

ok so these neighbors moved in above us about a month ago. i have complained to the management about this on many many occasions. the noise continues every day and sometimes way late into the night. their kids constantly pound and jump on the floor and they are constantly moving something heavy on the floor making my light fixtures and walls vibrate. they are also constantly arguing very very loudly in a different language. i have called the cops twice on them and no one will do anything about it. We wish to get out of our lease, but the management says they can’t/won’t do that. We want to leave this place and move as soon as possible not only because of the noise, but because of the dogs that are living here on the property. When we moved in we were told that this is a pet free place. i have been told that the dogs are all companion animals and they can be here. I have looked into the ADA and found that they cover my asthma and allergies. so basicaly do you think that i could get out of my lease with all the videos of the noise the neighbors are making as well as the info about the ADA covering my rights as someone with a disability.
with the ADA stuff i am severly allergic to dogs and all of our air intake vents are out side in the public area where the dogs currently play and hang out with their people. the dog dander gets sucked in and not even HEPPA filters will filter out that kind of dander. So basicaly they need to get rid of the dogs so i can live here and if they can’t/won’t/don’t then i can sue them for discrimination. it is in their lease that they have to supply everyone with a disability with adequate housing for their disability. the only way to do that is to get rid of the dogs and when we moved in we were told that this place was pet and animal free.

We have a neighbor with a hazardous, threatening tree that they refuse to deal with or let us deal with. We’ve been told that if we alert their insurance company they will probably force the homeowners to remove it. But how can I find that info out?

My daughter was bitten by my neighbors dog. He refuses to pay. I want to file a claim on his homeowners insurance, but he won’t tell me.

File a small claims lawsuit against him. He’ll probably contact his insurance company himself when he gets served.

We moved to FL 4 years ago. We were not even in our house a day and the neighbor invited herself over to see our house. She went through all our cupboards! Never talk to or invite them over again. If they hate it here so much why don’t they stay in Chicago. Recently we got a puppy and all they do is complain at the top of their lungs so that the whole neighborhood can hear. They are only here for 4 months a year and have the worst manners of any older person I know. It’s a retirement community that allows 2 dogs per household. There are dogs at every other house, but they choose to single us out. I think its because I’m younger that my husband by 18 yrs, We live all year round. We surveyed our property and they complained about that. They are making my life hell. Can’t talk to them. She always wants her way and is overbearing and super controlling. What to do? We love our house and are NOT going to move. Please help on how to handle neighbors with horrible manners
Also cannot go to pool or play golf because she gossips to other people about us and points right at us, while we try to ignore it

The first thing I would suggest is to politely go up to your neighbors house, ring the door bell and ask them about why they have been doing all this to you. When they begin to reply punch them in the nose. If they don’t fall down, repeatedly punch them in the face until they do. Politely ask them to stop talking about you and picking on you and then leave there premise. Ah thank you. Good day.

We moved into our house in last month, and have a home warranty which covers everything but the roots and the damage they have done.
We called a plumber who snaked our main line and found that the root damage is so extensive that we would have to replace the damaged sewer line.
This is our first house and we don’t have a ton of money to pay for this problem without having to get a loan of some kind.
We don’t have a single tree or bush on our property. We think the roots are from the property behind our home which is owned either by the city or the business (Qwest) that resides there.
Does anyone know if there are laws in Utah or anywhere else which would require our neighbor to pay for the repairs or at least part of them? The trees are also growing into our chain link fence and causing damage there also.
We have already done everything we could to kill the roots. We had to snake the line when it didn’t work and raw sewage was seeping into our kitchen and laundry room. We are waiting for the plumber to get the permits and exact details of the location of our line. In the meantime, we can hardly flush the toilet without it backing up.
The line is damaged and there is no amount of root killing remedy that will repair the pipes.

call the utility company and they will fix the damage as long as its on their side. you can also put red devil lye down the drain and it will kill the roots Ive lived in the same house for 30 years and the house was built here in 1920 and Ive never had that kind of problem and the houses are 5 foot apart. when we first moved here the lady we got the house from told my mom to add lye to the lies once every year or 2 to keep them clean
