I am actually looking for something that isnt too expensive. We are tired of using Saxon. I have looked at several others like teaching textbooks, too expensive. Something reproducible would be great.

Hire a tutor. If she’s home schooled and struggling, maybe it’s the teacher. No offense or anything. I’m just saying… there are no other kids in her class to be distracting her. Maybe math isn’t your strong point, as far as being able to teach her.

Home schooling Moms (and students), I need help. I am looking for a good math program. My sons are now 12 &14 (7th and 8th). For the last 2 years, we have been doing Math-U-See- the classic version. They don’t want to do it again. So my first problem is that MUS doesn’t seem to go in the same order as other curriculums (it actually makes more sense to me) so I don’t know how to place them when we do decide on another curriculum. When they were in ps they used Saxon, and we tried it our first year h’sing but they really didn’t like it. So we tried Abeka which was confusing because it is more advance than Saxon (and teaches in a different order). We then used ACE Paces for a couple of years before MUS. So I need some suggestions and I need to be able to give them placement tests to know where they are. We’re considering going back to Paces, but my concern is that I need more help guiding them as math is my worst subject. Thanks!

Check out Teaching Textbooks. My son has been doing their Algebra I and it’s going wonderfully! The math program we’d been using for 4 years wasn’t working and this is such a great switch!
