I would go with Verizon because it has the largest 3G network available. Just try to avoid at&t there service is not the best.

would appreciate opinions of the best town/region in malaysia for an early 50s single man.
an idea of the cost of a comfortable apartment and general expenses would be very welcome also……
internet access and costs?
golf courses and costs?
variety of nightlife……..NOT thai style………and costs.

Taiping, in the Perak state on the north.
Beautiful town.
The food is like heaven and cheap.
Expenses? You are paying double in KL not in Taiping.
Amenities is everywhere. (Shopping complex, Texco, Giants)
Internet by subscribing TM.
There’s some golf courses, but you have to check.
Nightlife bores you, but they have karaokes, nightclubs..i dunno.
I’m a Malaysian, used to live there.
If I wanted to retire, I’ll head back to Taiping.
Others may recommend you, good luck.
