Brigand Hill is truly a magical place, while the scenery is so beautiful and the sunsets almost not of this world. This is an exclusive resort with a slight difference in that it is a luxury exclusive resort within a luxury resort. Jade Mountain Resort is a really romantic place to be, and as a setting it is without equal in St Lucia, with 24 spectacular suites, starting with the Star, then the Moon, followed by the Sun, according to the floor space and the position, and therefore the price. Each suite is known as a sanctuary, and they are indeed spectacular with 5metre ceilings, the outside wall missing to expose possibly the most spectacular view imaginable of the Caribbean from any hotel, if not views in the world. There are no telephones, , radios or televisions, and no children under the age of sixteen, which makes it undoubtedly a real romantic getaway. Each Sanctuary has a unique bell pull cord to summon a dedicated room service and housekeeping team.
Guests at the Jade Mountain Resort have a good choice of dining options. You can eat in your sanctuary off the extensive suite service menu at any time of the day or night. Then you can eat at the Jade Mountain Club which is at the very top of Jade Mountain. This is an exclusive area for Jade Mountain Resort guests with Dining and bar areas, and a communal infinity pool. This is as well because eating in the resort is expensive, and the all inclusive option denies you the chance to try the local places.
Well worth trying is Spinnakers, Razmataz, are both worth visiting and eating at.
You can easily stock up on provisions at the market up the road, the fruit being especially good, thus making breakfast a simple meal to eat on the veranda.
When you talk to local people they are all dismayed about the rash of all inclusive hotels in St Lucia. The problem for them is that these sort of hotels actively discourage their guests from going out of the resort, so local restaurant trade suffers, as do taxi drivers, and businesses in general.
One of the outstanding features of the Bay Gardens Beach Resort is the friendliness of the staff, who all go out of their way to help you have a good time. It’s apparently not enough to be an exclusive resort on St Lucia. Many glitzy glamorous hotels and resorts now make claim to be the premier luxury resort in St Lucia. One such resort is The Landings A Rock Resort.
The big question therefore has to be does it have a fair claim to this position, or how good a resort is it for you to choose it for your vacation this year.
Firstly The Landings A Rock Resort has 62 rooms, which come as one, two, or three bedroom suites, with full kitchens, state of the art amenities, a private terraces. That is the basic fact about your accommodation, but the scale of the accommodation and the sheer quality of the appliances certainly does justice to the claim of being a top luxury resort in St Lucia.
If you are travelling en famille, and you have a couple of small children in tow, then the one bedroomed suite will be easily big enough. The kitchen well enough equipped to be able to stay in and cook successfully and without any stress. You may not realise that the suites are privately owned so if you want to cook and do laundry then you will need kitchen consumeables.
The two bedroom suites are absolutely enormous, and have two balconies, one overlooking the gardens and the other the beach, the beautiful blue sea, and Pigeon Island, with stunning sunsets to watch as you sip a rum punch.
At this time May 2008, The Landings A Rock Resort is not finished so there is some building work going on, and whilst this doesn’t really disturb, it does mean they don’t have the kind of shop that would sell suncream or toothpaste, or camera film, or batteries etc. , and this means a trip into Rodney Bay. Now The Landings has great drivers, but there is a cost involved here. There would be a lot of sense in hiring a car, and if you are British you should be pleased because they drive on the left hand side of the road in St Lucia.
Another reason to have a car obviously is to see the island, but the fact there is only one restaurant at the resort is a bit limiting at this time, so some exploration to find eating establishments is required.
These two factors at this time probably make the claim that The Landings A Rock Resort is the premier luxury resort in St Lucia a bit fanciful, but this is offset by the quite superbly helpful staff, and the housekeepers are top quality, and if you have stayed in supposedly top exclusive resorts you will know this isn’t always the case.
One other small issue is that there is only one pool with two hot tubs, although you couldn’t fault it in any way at all, and sunbeds aren’t a problem. You can be certain before very long this facility will be increased as it is quite obvious that Rock Resorts intend to live up to their boast as the premiere resort on Antigua.
You will have a great time at The Landings A Rock Resort, and it is already an exclusive hotel, perhaps not quite yet a top Caribbean Luxury Resort but that is only a matter of time.

Be warned, the road to Anse Chastanet Resort is pretty terrible, but this special exclusive resort is more than worth it. You’ll be treated like a king from the moment you arrive, and that makes you feel very special. For this reason and this reason alone it makes Anse Chastanet a perfect destination for a honeymoon or anniversary getaway. Here you have not only the staff, whose manners are impeccable, but they seem to like their job well, and there are too many other places in the Caribbean, St. Lucia, where not even the case.
You can find the food much better than average, but not quite amazing indeed very good. The menu for dinner every night is different, but you would be well advised to give serious consideration to the All Inclusive option, which at $ 150 per person per day. Although it may seem expensive, but by the time you are in all your drinks and food options can save you money.
The Anse Chastanet Resort sees itself as an exclusive resort and one of the top luxury resorts in St Lucia, and most guests are comments corroborate this view. Ir was often described as the best resort in St Lucia, or more than excellent, another frequent comment. Several guests of the Anse Chastanet described as an excellent hotel with great service.

You have only a villa on one side, and another villa below, with a deep ravine on the other side, so you have very little chance of being overlooked.
It isn’t just the Piton views that are spectacular, but also the ocean below, and the jungle which supplies you with some spectacularly coloured birds who will visit whenever food is in the offing!!
Frangipani has its own private pool, and large into the bargain, and others have a smaller pool. Large is good, so again make sure when you make your reservation you specify this, and whilst this type of villa costs more, it is a small amount when you consider the overall costings.
Stonefield Estate Villa Resort isn’t the place for those who need some nightlife, but is a perfect anniversary idea resort. There are no phones, no television, and no airconditioning. This means no work distraction for your nearest and dearest and you can have them all to yourself during what should be a dream vacation. The alternatives that you will enjoy could well be the time to lie on the wonderful double hammock on your private deck and read the novel you haven’t had the time for. Perhaps just lie there at night and look at the stars twinkling in the crystal clear sky, and when was that last possible in our increasingly polluted planet.
Perhaps you might take the peace and quiet as the time to get into writing your novel, or just get to know each other again. If you feel energetic, very energetic, then you can always climb the petit Piton!!
You may well never want to leave Stonefield Estate Villa Resort, because the Mango Tree Restaurant is excellent and the prices are reasonable. If you need to replenish you drink supply then a walk down to Soufriere Village, will get you out, but be warned the walk back is hard work.
If you want to be reminded what a chain hotel is like take the shuttle down to Jalousie resort to sit on the beach, and you will quickly realise why you chose Stonefield Estate Villa Resort.

When you first set eyes on Jade Mountain Resort your initial reaction will probably be one of disbelief. It looks like a cross between a James Bond Villain’s futuristic and almost malevolent looking eyrie. It is stark, it looks somehow almost unfinished, and yet it could be just about something from the Stone Age.
As a building it is completely open on the side, almost like a dolls house when you pull open the front. What this means is views, views, and more views, because you are effectively sleeping in the open, and when you open your eyes, then you have this totally incredible dramatic views of the Twin Pitons. In fact the views are so amazing you will have to drag yourself away, whether you are sitting in a chair gazing in awe, or swimming in your private infinity pool.
Your open sided room has different areas for sleeping, sitting out, and eating, and all are in fact called Sanctuaries, and that effectively is what they are!! Each Sanctuary is unique in its design, and according to the name, the size of the accommodation just gets bigger, and more expensive, with the largest called Sun, and the others Moon, Star, and Sky.
Local woods have been extensively used, and the bathrooms are out of this world complete with whirlpool tubs for two.
You couldn’t choose anywhere bettr for your honeymoon in St Lucia than the Jade Mountain Resort.
Guests at this exclusive resort can dine at Anse Chastanet, and in fact they can use all of the resort’s facilities, but if this is a honeymoon or anniversary, who needs the company. The Jade Mountain Resort has its own restaurant the Jade Mountain Club, which serves all meals including afternoon tea, and then there is the Celestial Terrace, one floor above, both with the same mind numbing views of the Pitons.
Jade Mountain Resort is just a wonderful escape, probably enough for three or four days to start your honeymoon in St Lucia, but for a total battery recharge in the most spectacular surroundings, there are few places anywhere to beat it.
