Question : Is my car a Lemon Car?
I live in Missour and a bought a 2004 Chevy Aveo from CarMax on September 6, 2007. Within the first four days I took it back because my brakes where squeeling. They fixed it but then I had to take it back not even a week later because the brakes were still acting up and when I turned it was making a thumping noise. Then a few weeks later i took it in because my AC system went out. Then another few weeks i took it back because my key would not start my car anymore. Then not even a week later a had to bring it back up because the key they gave me only started my car not my alarm syster of other exterior locks. Now today I find out my car is leaking of my drive way and everytime I do a left turn it makes a loud thump.
I’ve been searching the Missouri Lemon Law but I can’t find what the requirements to file for one or anything.
At this point I am fed up with this car and am wanting to give it back I only made TWO PAYMENTS on it so far.
Any help?
I have a One Year Extended Warrenty on the car.
All of my research on the Missouri Lemon Law also applys to used cars with Extended warrenties from the seller.

Yes, and I think it’s if you have to have the same thing repaired three times, they have to give you a different car. Try Googling Missour Lemon Law and see what it says!

Question : is there a lemon law on houses in texas?
my wife bought a house in central texas in october of 2006. we are the first owners and moved in as soon as the paint was dry. the weekend that we moved in, the drain pipe for the AC condensation came lose and ruined portions of a wal and flooded the carpet. the reapair man told me that the pipe wasn’t glued together. the builder paid for the repairs. about one month later the home was hit with 35 to 40 mph winds and the chimney broke off and fell causing damage to the roof and the cieling inside. it took them over a month and a threat of legal action but the builder fixed that as well. i have also had two light fixtures replaced on the front of the house, and the ones in the back have quit working as well. now i have sideing coming off. these are just a few of the problems we have had. is there any kind of lemon law in texas on homes. i could understand if it was an older home but it is new construction. do i have any rights or just the builders warranty. will this effect value too?

Some friends and I got a friend an Xbox 360 for Christmas last year. Since then she has sent it back SIX times for the same reason (open tray error). It started after the return policy had expired, but still under warranty for Xbox. I am tired of sending back and I want something I can use to get either my money back or a new system. Also no “get a PS3!” please. Thank you.

I am in the military and just moved to California so I am not sure of my rights here but I bought a USED car, I really like the car, but I bought this car, made it home, the next morning it wouldn’t start. On the 5th try starting the car the engine light came on and has been on since. I brought it to AAMCO because they do a free “Engine Light Diagnostic” and more than a dozen codes came up. What should I do? The car dealer gave me a warranty but its a powertrain warranty.

You didn’t say what year the car is, but generally used cars are sold in “as is” condition. The dealer gave you a limited warranty that covers the powertrain. It’s probably not going to be much help to you in this case.
Lemon laws protect the buyers of NEW cars from serious, recurring defects (warranty-type stuff). There are specific time and mileage requirements that must be met. They are not, nor were they ever intended to cover everything that can possibly go wrong with a vehicle.
There are risks associated with buying a used car, it is the buyer’s responsibility to determine the condition of a used vehicle before buying it. After the deal is done, you have no recourse.

If you purchased a used car there are two situations in which you may be qualified for cash or other Lemon Law benefits:
Situation #1: You may be entitled to compensation for breach of warranty if you had one of the following Warranties:
* Any warranty left from the manufacturer when you purchased your vehicle (for example, almost all vehicles sold with less than 36,000 miles will have this. But if the warranty is longer, you may have even more time).
* Your vehicle was “Certified” by the Manufacturer (in which case it came with a short Manufacturer’s Warranty, typically 1 year).
* You purchased an Extended Warranty backed by the Manufacturer (typically 5 years or longer).
Normally, these types of cases fall outside the scope of the State Lemon Law but are covered under special Federal Lemon Laws.
Situation #2: When No Manufacturer’s Warranty Exists If you do not have a manufacturer’s warranty of any kind you may be entitled to compensation for violations of consumer protection Laws that fall outside of the “Lemon Laws”. The following is a list of some of the problems and/or issues which may be present in your vehicle. Your vehicle may be/have a:
* Laundered Lemon (or prior history of mechanical problems known to the seller);
* Previously salvaged or wrecked;
* Fraudulently rolled back odometer;
* Rental car, police car, taxi, etc.;
* Stolen, stripped and rebuilt; and/or
