3Question : How much credit do I ask for re: a broken heat pump ? I did a home inspection today on a condo in Boston and the heating split system did not work. The inspector explained how the heat pump system works and that rignt now the heat is working on “emergency only”, meaning that the indoor unit works but the outside unit is not operating. He explained that the AC would not work and the heat was very costly. The look of the outdoor unit alone indicates it’s very old.
