Question : Are there any legitimate ways to work from home without having to pay a fee?
I am a mom with two boys with Asperger’s Syndrome and two other children and though I can work outside the home, they sometimes need me to be there for them when there are problems at school or they are sick. My husband has just started a company last year and they are still in the beginning stages so I need to make some money to cover our debts. I’m feeling really frustrated and I’m not sure what to do. I do have a Bachelor’s Degree and computer skills. Any ideas?

Normally, it is acceptable for a phone to drop a few calls in bad areas. However, my phone has a bad habit of not even picking up calls every so often, mostly at night when I’m commuting home from work (on a trolley; don’t worry, I’m not driving and talking on my cell simultaneously).

I would call and I’d wait for the ringing signal and then the phone would just drop the call altogether, leaving me to find a pay phone afterward.

The phone is already a year old. I thought it was all the photos I took with it (it has a camera phone feature) but most of those have been deleted. I don’t text message AT ALL. Every picture I take with the phone ends up in an “album” in my phone and I don’t know if all those photos could be preventing me from making calls (too much memory but last time I checked, I had plenty of it; for some reason, I can’t delete the photos from my “album” in my phone).

I want to take the phone in but I think it may be past the 1 yr. warranty. Any ideas?
When it drops the calls, it’s normally in a really good area with good reception.
Well, it didn’t used to be like this. I got great reception almost everywhere I went but now my phone either will work or won’t work.

And it would drop calls in places I normally would be able to use the phone normally.

i have a samsung and tmobile and it sounds to me more like bad reception more than the phone. you might not be getting good signal on that route.

Let’s say I want to buy a commercial property for 200K and don’t want to put do 30% and get into an 8 – 10% interest rate commercial mortgage. I own a very profitable company which grosses 1M per year, Bank are always offering this company large loans or equity lines on the business. What is my company borrow me some money, at a fair interest rate of say 5% simple interest and I use it to buy this property ?

What are the advantages and disadvantages? From what I can see. I will have lots of money on the loan (interest) and not have to make a large down-payment and I’ll own the properly free and clear.

I believe if you own the company 100% you can do it. If it’s a public held company you can’t.

I have always thought about moving close to the beach sometime within my life. I dont have to worry about college money anymore b/c the National Guard gave me a $ 72,000 scholarship to any supporting college nationwide. what isnt used out of that is mine to keep and i will also be getting about 7 to 8 thousand in a few months then another 7 to 8 thousand in 3 years. I also work with my dad who is a general foreman for a company contracted with Duke Power on the east coast making $ 10 an hour and getting paid weekly $ 300 until this summer when i go to my AIT training where I will accumulate another estimate of about 3,4,maybe 5 thousand more. so I will already have PLENTY of money to use at only 20 years old. I hope to get a good paying job in the technical field..perhaps avionics b/c im an apache attack helicopter mechanic in the SCArmy National Guard (awaiting AIT this june). so my question is how far can that much get me? I DO NOT WANT A BEACH FRONT HOME!!!!!! I just want something maybe a mile or so away…far enough to where i dont have to pay insanely ridiculous prices for homeowners insurance, property taxes/insurance, and all that. I have been trying to cunduct research of different areas of florida and south carolina but have had no luck as i really dont understand how the reality business works. that will hurt me tons!!! so i come and humbly ask for advice….and whatever you do…………………PLZ DONT CRITICIZE ME FOR BRAGGING ABOUT MY MONEY OR GET PISSED OFF!! I own a rental property in Houston. Since I live overseas and do not have home owners or renters insurance, the insurance company of my investment property will not write a $ 1000,000 umbrella policy. My investment property’s dwelling policy has $ 300,000 liabililty coverage in it.

Is there any way I buy $ 1000,000 umbrella policy? Any names of insurance companies?

I personally own the house and not through a corporate entity?

I have a dwelling policy TDP-1 on my rental. It is written by CYPRESS TEXAS LLOYDS.

I called the agency who sold me this policy. They said they can bump the current $ 300,000 liability to $ 500,000 for additional $ 500 per year.

This would certainly help but I want $ 1 million coverage.

you need a commercial insurance broker instead of the one you are currently using. I suggest using either web-based lookup for one in Houston, or the telephone book.

Commercial and excess lines companies write the sort of insurance you are looking for regularly. Companies whose basic business is homeowner’s or renter’s insurance limit their umbrella coverage to properties where their customer resides in a covered property.

Of course, the commercial and excess lines insurance market is probably more expensive. Still, no coverage in this age of litigation for the silliest things can be very expensive indeed.

I’m a first time homebuyer and I’m buying a home as is, I think I’m getting lucky though because the only big thing on the inspection was having the air conditioner serviced and cleaned. It is a two story home with a 5 ton air conditioner I don’t know the brand but I know the coil is in the upper crawlspace and it needs to be cleaned. I have no ideal how much something like this might cost and all the websites want my personal info, so any educated guess would be very helpful.

Depending on whether the coils can be removed and sprayed down with the pressure washer or they have to be cleaned in place will have a lot to do with cost. It could run you anywhere between $ 600 and $ 1200 depending on your geography. I have a bottle of coil cleaner from Lowes that I spray my own with then make sure to clean out the tray underneath or you will have overflow issues. I hope that house is small cause a two story home with only a ton unit hardly seems right. ,That mut be the least efficient unit they could install and your electric bill will prove it. Once you move in, start weather proofing the home. Cover windows facing the evening sun with blinds and heavy curtains that have a white backing to deflect the heat (open them in the winter to help heat the home via sunshine), install the plug covers fromthe baby section of any store, add some insulation to the recommended R rating for your area. All of these will help save you dramatically on your electric bill. The best thing to do although costly is to replace old windows with newer efficient ones, replace the old unit (15+ years) and insulate the attic space really well. Planting shrubs or a tree around the outside unit to block it from the sun will also help keep it from working so hard which will cut down the electric bill as well.

Call your local city inspector and ask them if they can take a look, where we live thats who we call. If thats not who you should talk to they can get you to the right person. I dont know what order the symptons appear but you would develop breathing problems like shortness of breath, coughing, stuffiness. My mom has moisture problems in her house(no visible mold) and every time i would come to town and stay with her i would get a cold(or so i thought). I finally figured out it had to to with the moisture/mildew smell. It really is a big deal, have someone take a look.

I’m purchasing a home with a value of 132,000, 1909 sqft., Purchase price at 90,000 and I’e received two quotes. One from fidelity and one from safeco: Below are the description of either coverage who can tell me which is the best deal.

If I am reading this correctly it appears that Safeco is the better quote. However, you do not say what type of homeowners this, i.e. is it a quote for an HO-3? Do you have Replacement Cost Coverage included for the Dwelling and your Contents? Did you include Sewer/Water Backup Coverage and Ordinance & Law Coverage? Also I would definitely increase the Personal Liability to $ 500,000 & the Medical Payments to $ 5,000–the additional cost for this should be between $ 20 to $ 30 per year and will provide an extra measure of security for your assets. Also make sure that your deductible is $ 1,000.

As long as you verify these additional coverages/endorsements, I would go with the Safeco quote. Safeco is a great company.
