Question : I have a friend who is 55 years old, living in Atlanta Georgia, that needs work!?
I am worried about him, he has lost his house and has been selling his possesions to exist! He is inteligent and capable of doing a number of things! Part of his problem, is that he has gotton over weight and has bad knees from playing for the NFL. He is living with his sister and is lossing hope or has lost hope! He played pro ball for a number of teams, supervised home building, owned his own custom door business, built his own three story home with his own hands, has a teaching degree form a Georga collage(he is waiting on the transcripts to arrive as he was in basic training right after graduating and didn’t get them! He has been a regional sales manager for Pella Windows and another company! He could use any kind of work that would allow him to be sitting down mostly, until he can drop the weight anyway! He sounds like a great guy. I happen to be married to someone who is 55, has trouble walking and standing because of back problems and is heavy so his situation rings a bell. He may be immediately eligible for some of the senior emloyment programs. They do not have high pay but they do offer real work in which the person helps make a difference for others.
