My family and I have to offer a house in Ireland, we. We are American citizens, and the house is on behalf of my mother. She (born and raised in the U.S.) their own house here, and it is also a U.S. citizen. What kind of taxes / capital gains / charges / etc we are looking to pay when we sell? I am considering this as a start up business for myself and a friend. We are both very adept at decorating and have been tossing the idea around to “stage” homes to help them sell. Should we concentrate more on realtors in our area for feedback as to need, or would you send a mailing out to homeowners for their feelings as to whether they would use the service. Thanks in advance for your honest opinions.

I’d run a small ad in the paper and see if you get any responses. I’d also use realtors as a way to network and get your word of your business out. Mail outs could be good too. Use every form of cheap or free advertising that you can.

I currently work as a Design Engineer/Project Engineer for a top 5 design firm and i am thinking of starting my own consultancy .

I think i have the right skill sets to manage and design medium size projects of moderate complexity for large industrial facillities. My question is would managers of companies like IBM, Shell Amgen, Wallmart , target etc ever hire an independent consultant to work on there Facilities or Capital Projects and my second question is is a PE License or a Project Management Certification or an MBA more important in starting a Consultancy Business. Also any tips for Business development

Hi,

We will be traveling to Oahu in January for the first time. I am curious on what the water will be like on the north shore in the winter months. They say it has big waves but some of the places are protected by reefs. Does that mean it will be safe for my children (7 and 12) to go in the water?

Also, if you have been and know of any great vacation rentals… please let me know. Thanks!

You can witness great surfing and still find calm spots for your kids to swim. Have a great time! And by the way, it doesn’t matter where you stay, you and your family will love Hawaii.

i use to work for home warranty companies, some people do go up against them but must home warranties will find some reason to not replace it. lack of maintenance or rust are two of the most common reasons they say no. the companies that work for them don’t make much money so the don’t want to replace it or will add a bunch of non covers like despoil and duct transition we use to only get $ 150 from ahs and $ 1200 from the customer in non covers. so in short keep complaining they will get you fix in the 2 years i worked from them i only replaced 3 units all the rest they declined, or i could fix.

I’m wondering if home staging professionals ever seek to park flashy, expensive cars in the driveways of high-end homes in order to make the properties look even more upscale and desirable to potential buyers. Is this ever done? If so, how do they procure the vehicles to park there? From dealers? Car companies?
