New initiatives and climate policy increases the demand for diesel
The report shows that diesel was hard, the fastest growing petroleum products, representing 20 percent of the demand for refined products, which at an annual rate of 2.8 percent for the last five years. Hart said U.S. diesel demand expected to increase by 1.7 to 2.0 percent per year over the next ten years, largely by the transport sector and heavy oil industry and its climate policy initiatives that increase the use of diesel in cars (p. 27) .
Beyond that, the diesel industry to reduce the current implementation of advanced engine and emissions technology, emissions from vehicles and off-road machinery and equipment is compared to over 98 per cent to 2000-era technology, the report said. With superior fuel economy of up to 35 percent more gasoline, diesel offers a strong option for meeting requirements while maintaining the performance and power (p.27).

Hart reported that the refinery has made adjustments to meet and plans for additional investment to rising global demand and the U.S. for diesel fuel.
