How to delete a song from the sansa e250 using the player (without being connected to a PC)?

The manual tells that there is an item “delete song” in the submenu when in playback mode, but I don’t find it anywere.
Notes:
- The files are not write protected but they where when I uploaded them into the sansa e250.
- The firmware version is 01. 02. 24A, which, according to the firmware updater, is the last one.
