Question : Is this retirement place called (The Villages) In the path of hurricanes in florida?
My husband would like to move to The Villages in Florida, He’s a Golf nut and an outdoors person. Me sometimes, sometimes not so much. I would rather not run from the hurricanes that everybody knows are coming every year. and lose precious non replacable items like pictures of family and I don’t see any fun in having to replace things like your home. furniture, ect. every year—- so is the retirement dream spot of my husband going to fit in with me having a stable home?

We live in the desert now and I kinda like the dry heat vs the humidity of florida. And I hate Bugs There are some here too, but thats ridiculous whats breeding down there. Help> I could learn to live with them I suppose but the weather I dunno abt that.

I can’t predict where a hurricane will hit and what path it will take. Any place in Florida is liable to be hit. More so than Arizona.

I saw it on travel channel and they said you could rent an entire condo for around $ 100 a day. You also have full use of the resort facilities. I looked on travel channel but could not find any info……can anyone help??????

I don’t think it will be that cheap, it is owned by Marriott and is pretty upscale. You might check on Vacation Rentals By Owner for a deal there though. Some are priced at about $ 2400 a month for a 2 bedroom. If you tell them you might be interested in a timeshare they can offer you a deal on a weeks stay and a rental car for around $ 975 plus a voucher to spend at the property for about $ 100. Worth a shot at that price.

they charged us for the service call as well as the installation of a new thermostat..we paid a total of 300 bucks. we had ice cold air for 1 whole day before the new one went blank…what gives? we are having the heating and air company come out again which is 3days later..is it fair for us to have to pay another service fee. Just our luck..homeowners warranty for appliances is lapsed.

If you pay a service charge and the problem persists, even if it worked for a few days, the service company should not charge you again for the call. Perhaps what they “fixed” wasn’t the problem and they should investigate further.

Most services have a warrantee for work done and I would think that 3 days would qualify.

If they try to soak you again, report them to your local Better Business Bureau.

I answered an ad in my local paper about cleaning out foreclosed homes and when I emailed them this is who it was. They said they were out of Houston, TX. They emailed me a vendors packet to fill out. Has anyone else ever worked for a property management company that was in a different state and they sent you work orders?

well, i requested an inspection on line to check for mold under and around the carpet. today they came here with no mold kit. they said well we can’t check for mold cos no mold kit. they checked off other repairs in the apartment but the whole point was for mold in the carpet.

what should i do, now.i showed them the mold and how its damp in under the carpet.

what next step do i take to get them to rip up this rug and give me wood floors??

Get a different service. Obviously the one that you have is bad because they came with no mold kit. Also make sure you don’t pay them anything. If they demand that you pay them and they don’t leave until you pay them then call their boss or a manager.

There are several branches of Residential mortage- I would do some internet searches and maybe even the better business b. As a person working in the mortgage field-just please be aware of hidden or fees that maybe charged—ie application fee..and please ask if their is a prepayment penality-if there is—run!! this means that if you pay off the mtg early they can charge you a fee for refinancing–some places can charge up to $ 13,000.
