I am just starting an interior decor home staging and redesign business.I am planning on becoming a “dealer” for a window tx company.The sample books are very expensive so I’d like to purchase some current but used books,any idea where I could find such a thing? (I’ve already looked on ebay & googled my question) Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

in SIMSONLINE..we used to design and build all kinds of homes, shops, for fun and learning ..sounds funny but there is contest for most artistic and unique designs..

Question : What vehicle is best for moving 3 suitcases, few boxes of books and some video games from FL to MT?
In a couple of months, I have to move from Miami to Missoula. I have always wanted to do a cross country road trip, and this will probably be my only opportunity. I am going to be renting a car, and I need to know which would be best!
Also note that I have to stop into Chicago to pick up few things, so the more room, the better! (Cost is of no issue!)

Try a sedan like a chevy impala or something but if you’re not worried about gas mileage the try a small suv like a chevy blazer but i personally would go with the impala

Summer is here, baseball is booming, and the children do not attend school. In retrospect, one of my favorite aspects of summer was assigned during the elementary school reading. I was planning to rent a car and drive to the south, but my family suggested me to think about moving companies or services… I have to send both books and some light furniture I’d like to keep. Anyone can help and tell me where to go, who to contact ?

There are moving companies that move by rail or truck, if you are sending boxes, I sent mine by Grayhound bus. You just drop it off and then pick it up at the destination station. It was pretty cheap and easy.

Im moving into my uncle’s old apartment, he moved out of it. More than 30 years of all day indoor smoking has gone on inside.
How do I remove cigarette SMELL and stain damage from:

it basically infiltrates everything, should I just throw everything away? I really want to keep the book collection and furniture. The couch is probably hopeless since I cant open it up obviously. How Do i clean the books and walls?

Hire a disaster recovery company or rent an ozone generator when you will be away for a day or two. (This is what hotels do to “de-smoke” a room).
Then do a thorough cleaning with an alkaline cleaner. There will be a film of tar and soot over everything.

Question : Books or Software to do Home Blueprints myself?
Im getting ready to build an 800 sq ft addition to my house. its a straight forward addition, just extending the house straight back. The roofing, etc is all very simple and I plan to do everything myself and contract out what I cant do. There are lots of good books people have referred me towards home building, framing, foundations, roofing, etc but am looking for any good books or software to do the blueprint work myself so I can turn into the city.
The few people Ive talked to in the construction biz want well over $ 4000k and up to do the blueprints for me. Im trying to save any which way I can and $ 4000 to do drawings is too much for me. I can do them myself if I have some knowledgeable books to go on. For reference, I do have one of my brothers sets of blueprints for the house he expanded which was a lot more involved than what I plan to do. He had several different roof angles to contend with becuase of his addition. I wont have that problem. I’ve got an A shaped roof and will just be carrying it back another 30 feet or so.
Anyways, any books or software out there I can do some research on? Much appreciated! Thanks!

If you haven’t done so already, talk to your city’s building department and find out what they require. Some may accept a sketch on a legal pad sheet, if it’s a very straightforward, conventional construction. Other municipalities would approve a detailed, scaled pencil drawing on graph paper and others may require a licensed architect’s stamp on any submitted plans.
A contractor who is known by the building dept staff may gain more leniency with the detail required in the plans than a homeowner whose abilities may be questionable.
There is home design software available in the $ 100 price range that will produce fairly professional-looking illustrations of the intended addition, but true computer drafting software would be cost-prohibitive and require considerable training for most laypersons to operate.
If you are able to sketch all of the required details on paper, I believe you could submit that to an architect or draftsperson and have them “computerize” it for much less than the $ 4000 you were quoted.
