Question : Our thermostat went blank after a blackout, we called the heating company to come out and take a look?
they charged us for the service call as well as the installation of a new thermostat..we paid a total of 300 bucks. we had ice cold air for 1 whole day before the new one went blank…what gives? we are having the heating and air company come out again which is 3days later..is it fair for us to have to pay another service fee. Just our luck..homeowners warranty for appliances is lapsed.

If you pay a service charge and the problem persists, even if it worked for a few days, the service company should not charge you again for the call. Perhaps what they “fixed” wasn’t the problem and they should investigate further.
Most services have a warrantee for work done and I would think that 3 days would qualify.
If they try to soak you again, report them to your local Better Business Bureau.

Question : Gardners – I have a blank slate this year – any specific plants for zone 4?
Due to a LARGE home remodeling project, I lost 2 of my major flowering beds. I’m starting over altogether. So far I’m going to put in a berm of soil for tall plants. I have sea foam, dehlia’s, and sunflowers. I’m looking for tall plants that can grow in northern wi (across from Minneapolis/St. Paul MN) Zone 4 or 5. Also, looking for what to purchase for new beds in the front. Any ideas would be appreicated!

I don’t think you can get much taller than the sunflowers, so any kind of plant of your choice.
I don’t think a garden is complete unless you have a Peony or two, even after flowering the bush stays nice and green

I want to print out my own label onto a cd for someone for christmas and I’ve heard of paper that lets you print out a design onto it and than peel it off and apply. I’m wondering if anyone knows where to get this paper at a store not online. Thanks

I am looking for the window film that is used for the back of suvs or cars where it appears as a picture from the outside, but does not obstruct your vision from inside. I want it to be unprinted on because i would like to experiment with it. Any tips would be great!

Right now, I’m using a friend’s laptop and I need to know how to check dvd compatibility. I want to burn a few dvd’s, but I need to make sure that his dvd burner is compatible with either +/-. How do I check for dvd compatibility? Is there a program that I can download in order to check the compatibility of certain media formats?

I have 20 empty CD cases and have no idea what to do with them. . ive taken out the CDs and put them in a CD holder but now I have a pile of empty cases sitting around the recording room in my small room! any creative ideas or ways to go to get them out of the way? Please help!
