At Atlantis, Bahamas do you receive anything for going to a timeshare sales presentation?
2Question : At Atlantis, Bahamas do you receive anything for going to a timeshare sales presentation?
We will be visiting in mid-August and probably will take the timeshare tour, but I was wondering if there was any gift, meal vouchers, etc, for attending. Has anyone been through this and if so, was the sales pitch a hard sell, uncomfortable experience?

I did a visual inspection for mold in my basement but I couldn’t find anything, could there still be mold?
3Question : I did a visual inspection for mold in my basement but I couldn’t find anything, could there still be mold?
I just finished searching my basement for mold, and I couldn’t find any. I did this because I would sometimes get a headache when I went into the basement and my nose would almost always start to run. The air in my basement is cold and seemingly dry, so it could have just been because of this.
Do you think there could be mold hidden in the basement (the walls are brick and the floor is cement)

I don’t think it’s likely at all that mold is growing on brick or concrete. Mold typically grows on something with cellulose in it or other organic materials. If you’re still concerned, you could always use one of the test kits, but it sounds to me like you’ve made a good inspection, and your basement isn’t built of materials known to support mold anyway.
MY builder’s brick guys did a horrendous job. Is there anything I can do?
4Question : MY builder’s brick guys did a horrendous job. Is there anything I can do?
I am buying from KB Homes, and we are about halfway through building the house, and we gave $ 1000 in earnest money. The construction manager has said there is no chance of them redoing the work. The brickwork looks as if it was done by kindergartners. Absolutely unacceptable. The house stands out from the rest of the development like a sore thumb. Can anyone tell me who to contact for some relief? I am in Houston, Texas.

Has anyone ever had anything like this come out of their nose?
0Question : Has anyone ever had anything like this come out of their nose?
***WARNING: this is totally disgusting, click at your own risk***
For the past few years I have regularly blown out this hard, discolored nasal mucous. If you didn’t see the image, it’s light brownish, a little smaller than a dime, and solid. Occasionally I will spit/cough this mucous out, but usually (I’d say 90% of the time) I will blow it out of my nose. This used to happen every few months, but over the course of the past few years it has become more frequent so that now it happens once or twice a week.
I don’t usually feel “congested” most days. I will just wake up on certain days, feel the mucous obstructing my breathing, blow it out with mild effort, and feel fine. I have been repeatedly tested for allergies (negative) and I don’t have asthma. The last time I went to an allergist I brought a “sample” because I was tired of being told I just had a sinus infection and given antibiotics (which have repeatedly proven ineffective). He examined my nose, joked that it was the “clearest nose he had seen in weeks”, that I has a straight septum, and that my nasal passages didn’t appear irritated or swollen… in fact, he could “see my pallet moving”. I had a CT (CAT) scan and he said nothing stood out.
I live near the ocean close to Daytona Beach, FL and the average annual humidity is 88% in the morning and 61% in the afternoon.* For comparison to wherever you are: annual morning/afternoon average in Los Angeles is 73%/52%, New York City is 72%/56%, Houston, TX is 89%/65%, Denver, CO is 67%/40% and Atlanta, GA is 82%/56%.
The only other sinus problems I have are headaches around my eyes whenever the barometric pressure changes (from a storm or whatever).
Again, I have been on multiple courses of antibiotics. There is no mold that I am aware of in my house, and my mother is the only other person in my family with sinus issues (non-allergic rhinitis), but she has never had anything like this.

I coughed out that yucky stuff before.
It’s normally really hard and actually has a bit of a plastic texture to it. That’s just any leftover mucous in the back of your throat that has solidified and blocked the airwaves over time. It might possibly be down in your esophagus, because the same stuff that lines your nose is in your throat to help guide food into your stomach.
There’s a possibility it’s in your lungs and air passages and just comes out through your nose when you blow.
Just keep blowing it out, and try taking a decongestant.

Can I get out of a lease if the leasing company never signed anything?
2Question : Can I get out of a lease if the leasing company never signed anything?
In 2006 I started a business with some equipment on a commercial lease. Since then the business closed and I am stuck paying a lease I can no longer afford. I asked for a copy of the lease a few days ago and they faxed it to me. Going through it I noticed they never signed it. It is now 2008. Is there a way out for me or am I still stuck with this lease?

You are most likely stuck. I’m sure if it went to court…the landlord will no doubt have a signed copy (by both parties) of the lease.
My friend bought a home with no home inspection 3 months ago now she sees major repairs. Can anything be done?
4Question : My friend bought a home with no home inspection 3 months ago now she sees major repairs. Can anything be done?
We live in Georgia. My friend used her boyfriend as and her relator and he was fairly new in the business. She found a home that she liked and they put a contract on it. Her relator did not tell her to get a home inspection and this was her first home so she didn’t know. She closed on the home and has been living in it for about 3 months. She started seeing problems with things and had a guy come out to look at it. He told her there were several major problmes and he wrote up an estimate for about 10K. The home has problems such as leaking from the roof, the floor boards need replacing, there is mold in the house and the furnace needs replacing. The seller didn’t even provide a disclosure to her. Being that she bought the home basically as is, is there anything that she can sue the seller for? Who should she call to get this resolved?

Her only recourse would be to sue her boyfriend/realtor and his broker.
The realtor was incompetent. That’s sufficient reason to complain to the state licensing agency.
The boyfriend’s broker is ultimately responsible for the actions of his agents. The broker probably has errors and omissions insurance to cover these things.
And her relationship with the BF is probably going to end quickly and badly. But it needs to be done anyway.
