What are the requirements to rent an apartment on the island of Oahu, Hawaii?
More specifically, what I make documents available? Check stubs? Bank statements? Do I need a credit history? Is it in the real estate companies are selling? Do I have a certain age? I intend to go there, so I’ll try to get as much information I can obtenirMerci much tousRéponse

you need a job, some require an amount of 1 month, you need to earn to rent, you need for identity, creditworthiness, age i don, t know, but the students to rent while I don, t que.Vous must have a good job and you can t able to find a job now, but it depends on what you do.alot two people jobs.you WG-room work in private homes, but sometimes they are expensive.

I used to work at a property management company. When people applied we required that they be 18, be able to provide two months worth of pay stubs (or two years income taxes if self-employed). We wouldn’t rent units unless the person saw it first (no sight unseen renting). They had to have good credit, or if they didn’t have a credit history they’d have to be able to prove they could cover the rent. If they needed a guarantor for the rent, the guarantor had to live on the same island as the unit was on.
If there were more than one applicant it was first come, first served and/or whoever had the better credit/references/ability to pay the rent.

Depends. If you go through an agent, some of the documents they may ask for are 2-3 pay stubs, a bank statement, at least 3 non-family references, A valid picture ID (Government Issued) and an application fee to pay for a credit and background check. (Usually $ 10-$ 30). If it is a private listing by the landlord/owner, be prepared to provide all of the above, but they might not ask for it. I have never looked at a place that did not require a security deposit equal to 1 full months rent. Be prepared to look at a lot of places, especially if you are looking for inexpensive, and to put in several applications before you get a place. I strongly recommend that you get a place that offers a lease instead of month to month. If you go on Craig’s List, beware of any listing that requires you to send money with out viewing the offered rental or signing a lease. There have been scams where the owner claims they are on a “Christian mission in Nigeria” or other African location, and they will send you the key once you send them your money.

It totally depends where and from who you are renting..
If you want to rent a place from a landlord who does this next to a normal job (like my mother-in-law, who has a place she uses to rent out) then all they want is your telephone number, social security number and the security deposit (which usually equals a months rent but cannot be higher than a months rent according to Hawaii state law) and a months rent up front. No special requirements are needed then. Even ages don’t matter, all that matters is the money to them.
Sometimes the landlord may tell you that they only do long term leases, though.. such as year-to-year contract, others go month-to-month.
When you go to a real estate company you will have to have good credit, probably have to show bank statements, be an adult and so on.. but most of all will it cost you the most money.. my advice, go see on graigslist or something if you can find a nice rental place from a landlord.
