A good name for the estate of a fictional Scottish law lord castle?
I write a novel and one of my main character’s father is a senior judge. It can be a sequence of Lanarkshire, Ayrshire and Lothian. I have not decided on the specific location. Anyway, I’m on a suitable title for the estate and castle thinking .. It has its good and its not already there .. Please can someone help me? His name is John Lord Robertson. Such as (real) senior judges have had names such as Lord Mackay of Clash remote, Lord Mackay of Drumadoon .. Something could Gaelic or in relation to something low country .. I thought Drumdevan or Kinlochmoidart but both relate to the high country and it already exists. I also have a character of Lord Douglas MacDonald and he’s in the Highlands then give me the ideas for his successor screams. If I am good and my book is published, I’ll give you a shout on the list thanks! merci.PS: Thanks to all before responding. I did not choose my answers on time, so he went to vote.

not really a question of genealogy, but I’m not sure where to go. Here look for a place noms.http is: / / surnames.behindthename.com / php / search.php Terms = & title = Scottish names Scottish & usage + = yes
MacKay Real Estate
Taking a lowlands shire, that isn’t too close to the border – such as Renfrewshire – I went to http://www.curiousfox.com/ and searched for the county name. Using the show places within 10 km tool gives a good list of local place names. Taking the first part of one location name and the second part of another – so that they sound real – but obviously picking on the more exotically Scottish sounding names.
Gallowskaith
Blarisbuck
Gilshoglen
Meikleshaw
Carntorlie
And using Kinross-shire
Queich
Kinbo
Balphinnan
Carncrievie
Balfarg
One of the Clan Robertson (Clan Donnachaidh) septs is Tannoch so ther should be a strong association between Robertson, Tannoch and nearby place names.
Searching CuriousFox for Tannoch finds Tannochside in Lanarkshire. See 10km suggests inventing
Auchinmuir
Braeloch
Burngeddie
Kylebeth
Gallowgair.
I like the Gallow association for a judge.
