What can I do about kids playing football on my street.?

Ive asked these kids to stop playing by my house, they have hit my house with the football and damaged landscaping lights. I have talked to their parents on more than one occasion. They are constantly playing in the street, throwing the football over cars when they drive by, making cars slow down because they wont move, and they have been damaging vacant houses with the football. I stopped the police one time and told them about one of the kids damaging realty signs. I feel like calling the police again.

If they are damaging property, you have every right to contact the police and i suggest you do.

Don’t waste the police time with that garbage. Like that one guy said, don’t be a jackass. Talk to their parents and if that doesn’t work sue thier parents. Waste the corts time with bs like this, not the police.

I like the earlier answer about kids needing an outlet for their energies instead of letting them become so bored they pursue illegal activities.
Why don’t you check on the availability of activities for youth in your community, then suggest to these kids that they move their activities to those areas, instead of calling the police and antagonizing the kids so that they purposely play near you and antagonize you in return?

I would go ahead and call the police. If they are impeding traffic and damaging property they are breaking the law. I don’t know where you live but where I live we have a city ordinance that makes it illegal for kids to play in the street and impede traffic.

Try and remain calm when talking to the kids, show them respect and hopefully they will do the same back? Charging in like a rampaging bull will get you nowhere with them, and will only probably enflame the situation. If all else fails, keep a diary, and gather as much supporting evidence as you can. Present it to the police, and demand that they keep you updated on what they are doing to resolve the issues you are having. Good luck, hope this helps hun? X

Contact the police department. They are vandalizing private property, disturbing the peace and creating a general nuisance.

Video or call the police is the best thing you can do. One thing you have to remember is that they dont have a place to play. Kids need room to run or have you forgotten that? Best of luck because I played street ball when I was a kid. Maybe they just need an adualt to supervise the event? Could give you a great reason to get involved with some kids around you area, you might just end up enjoying life more instead of your land scape. jk around..
