Question : Delicious dinner ideas for my man?
My boyfriend and I are spending a weekend alone in Whistler, BC in a couple weeks. He has gotten us a condo so we have our own kitchen of course. I want to cook him the most delicious dinner he’s had in a while, which is going to be tough because his mother is an amazing cook, so I really need all your help! Like I’m talking a full course meal something plentiful and yummy… Thanks!

If his mom is a great cook, ask her what his favorite dish is and how to cook it. Otherwise, find simple, fresh ingredients where you are going and ask the people that sell them how to cook them. Fresh is best. Stick with the best and you can’t go wrong.

I’m a fairly talented amateur chef who spends a lot of time at Whistler. You are going to be hampered somewhat by the fact that even though you have a kitchen, it is a kitchen with which you are unfamiliar. In all probability the pots, pans, and knives will be substandard. In addition, you will be lucky if there is anything other than a packet or two of salt and pepper. We’ve gotten in the habit of bringing a supply of spices as well as our own knives, this will be a hassle if you are flying in.

When I go, I accept the fact that cooking will be a somewhat frustrating and unsatisfying experience.

Why not take advantage of the fact that there are several world-class restaurants in Whistler? Rimrock Cafe is my favorite restaurant in North America. Make reservations now if you are going in a couple of weeks.

Mix Chili Soya paste with one can coconut milk and use this as a marinade for shrimp(best),chicken,pork, or beef. if you use something other than shrimp especially beef add less coconut milk to make the marinade stronger. Grill and serve with rice and vegetables. This is one of my favorite meals, its easy fast and will become a quick favorite.
