Is there any suggestion to build such homes in hot areas bcoz steel would become much more hotter in summer then concrete.

how much would a shipping containter cost? cause i got two hands and a tourch cutter for them windows. one nice sized solar panel, and i got myself some alrightright living, bring on that depression!

You can use spray foam to insulate the walls in hotter regions. However, this would require completely finishing the inside walls, taking away from the industrial look.

$1000 on average for the 40ft containers not including transport.
I have heard in certain states their ship yards are so full of them they have gone for $400 with free transport up to 60 miles.
just get the ones covered in graffiti or slightly rusted or damaged, the repairs are cheap.

@dodgedart74 A 40′ is gonna run you at least 2500 which is not that great of shape. 3000 for one that is pretty new looking and not needing any structual work. You dont want to get crappy containers…..pain in the ass.

about $2500 for a 40ft container. Shipping is usually around 500-750.

I000 bucks or less for a nice 40 footer, right now anywhere in the USA. Check on ebay, I called one of the companies, they said make an offer. “We don’t export anything anymore and China is backed up and doesn’t need or want them”.
