Question : Does this resort management job sound like a good or bad deal?
I have an opportunity to be an on-site property manager for a small resort that includes 8 cabins, rented nightly and/or weekly primarily in summer. The weekly rental fees range from $ 560 up to $ 900. I would receive 40% of those rental fees, however, I would be responsible for the costs of hiring someone to clean, credit card fees and machine lease, the 800 telephone number, laundry fees, costs of supplies for each cabin such as soap, dish soap, paper towels, etc., office supplies, etc. Is this the norm?

It seems to me that all of these expenses would cut deeply into my 40%. And these costs would be in addition to taking reservations, collecting monies from guests, all accounting and administrative work, and being available 24/7 (at least during the summer).
Any comments or advice appreciated.

By the way, I would not receive my living quarters for free. I would be purchasing one of the cabins and paying for my own household expenses such as utilities, insurance, etc.
