Question : What all do I need to do to start a home based muffin business?
I am in the planning stages of starting a muffin business. I will probably include scones and cookies as well. Eventually I’d like to expand if there is a demand. I Currently I am the pastry maker at a local restaurant, but am not treated the best so I am thinking it’s best to leave. I LOVE baking though and have built up a large clientele for the restaurant since I took on the baking. My family is not planning on remaining in this town after the next couple of years, so I do not want to invest or rent business property.

What all do I need to do to begin this business? How small must I keep this business before I need to have a health inspection and have commercial appliances? I don’t want to mess up and be fined or anything.

First, find out if people like ur muffins! Etsy.com is a official safe place to sell food, and homemade items, as to starting a buisness, you would probably have to get a lisence, and a propertey permit and such. Talk to your legal person of your town or even the mayor.
