When is the best time to sell a home in Dallas?

Question : When is the best time to sell a home in Dallas?
I am wanting to relocate by summer 2008. I need to know when the best time to sell would be since it seems to be a buyers’ market. My home is 85% updated with new flooring, paint, new appliances, etc. and seems to be in better condition than the other homes for sale in my neighborhood. I feel my only drawback is that it is a 2 bedroom home, while most of the others are 3 bedrooms. Should I wait to list my home or go ahead and put it on the market? What are the advantages/disadvantages of selling during the current market situation?
Very funny WJ…guess I should have said what time of year is best to sell a home! Haha!

Home foreclosures were up 75% in 2007 from 2006 and up 74% in 2006 from 2005. While this is making for a buyers market and many people are trying to flip homes buying on the cheap and selling for profit many are finding it more profitable to buy them for rental properties to tied them over until it becomes a sellers market. That being the case you might consider renting your current home until the market becomes more seller oriented.

Spring time is the best time! You know as well as i do that the housing slump is not going to recover by 2008 anyway! So if you must sell it do so!! Your not going to get that hurt that badly since any home you buy today is going way below market value its a straight trade off in values anyway!

Right now is not the time. Market is really down on houses. Portage companies are practically giving them away. Wait till summer and see if it improves. Good time to be buying though. Look for foreclosed properties.

I would say between 6:00 and 7:00 AM. People are usually still tired then, and you can swindle them out of all their money.

Good luck we are going through a recession. We live in Texas and have a 2 story house with an apartment upstairs and we can not sell it and it has been on the market for almost a year. If you really want to move this Summer you should start putting your house up for sale now.
