Does the inside of your house look like a commerical for funiture or a “normal” house?
Question : Does the inside of your house look like a commerical for funiture or a “normal” house?
Growing up- I don’t remember anyone who had a picture perfect house….. now all my friends are striving for house that look like furniture store ads. Sometimes I just want to throw out everything and start again to get that look. My mother says it’s insane and doesn’t understand why people don’t have normal house- mix of stuff old and new…. things that don’t matchy matchy…. just were “normal” people live as she so puts it.
What does your house look like?
Mine is a “normal” house but we are staging it to sell, so I am making it look like a furniture store ad right now. LOL

Commercial for furniture at the moment. We ended up getting most of our stuff from IKEA, so it all fits together real nicely…a little too nicely to be honest.
Our house is a “real” house, with kids
so real includes the piles of laundry, multiplying toys, lost empty cups, paintings, artifacts from kindy and all the mismatched hand me down furniture.
I would LOVE to have a picture perfect house sometimes, so I could sit down at the end of the day without looking around and seeing the 25 million jobs that need to be done every day!!;)
I think that I would be bored with it very soon though…..but it would be nice occasionally.
I think that most (younger) people have been programmed to want only their technology, so anything that isn’t their computer or Ipod, anything that isn’t picture perfect, and up to the minute (like their technology) is a waste of space, time and money and therefore gets tossed out, and this minimalist thinking has seeped into the community as a whole.
Don’t worry I have been wondering about this for a while too :>
