Question : Config virtual memory for 4GO RAM vista!!?
i use illustrator for work and some how illustrator lag… i have no virtual memory set up yet.. should i ??

and what i should put exactly for

initial size and maximum size?

by the way i have a AMDX2 5000+ 4go ram OCZ sli .. geforce 9600 GT 512… 2 lcd extended desktop

virtual RAM is simply memory cached to the hard disk rather than RAM that is alot slower anyway so it wont make a huge difference in terms of lagging. i suggest upgrading to 6gbs of RAM if your sure its your RAMs fault.

drawing architect plans is more likely to be graphic intensive. your graphics card (9000 series nvidea) is actualy quite bad the 9000 seires was a bit of a fail. i suggest you look at getting one designed for CAD like the nvidea tesla series. this is only if money isnt a problem, very expensive but is as fast as good quality gaming graphics cards and has huge amounts of graphics RAM on it.

if money is an issue (you dont have a £1000 lying around) look at buying yourself a 4870 or 4890 hd.

also possibly your processor; athlon is quite a old processor type im not sure how processor intensive what your doing is but if your motherboard can take a phenom of phenom 2 processor plug a fast one in.

(remember if upgrading to powerful graphics card you will need 2 PCI e power connectors on your PSU and a good quality power supply if you dont have one i have a:

it costs £70 but is well worth it a huge range of connectors and good power output im having good overclocking etc so.
