I scored front row tickets to see Ozzy on Halloween weekend in San Diego. It doesn’t get much better than that.
On paper.
I got to shake his hand, got a pick from Geezer Butler, and I was rocking out. About 2/3 of the way through his set, Ozzy says, “You people aren’t crazy enough. The craziest MF’er gets to come backstage with me and the band.”
What happened next was nothing short of a riot. Dozens of people leaped onstage, there were moshpits EVERYWHERE in the audience, and it was one of the most chaotic things I’ve ever experienced. Being in the front row, people were using my head as a springboard to get onstage, while security was shoving the mass of humanity back in general, including using my face. Security eventually whisked Ozzy and the band off the stage, and the police made everyone call it a night. It was all over San Diego news that night, and on MTV news the next morning. I looked like I was on the wrong end of a fight when I got home.

Okay this was years ago…and it was kind of strange and I was pissed. My boyfriend at the time and I were at a Queen concert. The cops grabbed my boyfriend and dragged him away. Of course I have no idea whats going on. Well somebody that was sitting below us and said that somebody above him threw a cigerette butt down and he got hit with it.
It wasn’t my boyfriend but we missed a bit of the concert because they were questioning him.. That was when Freddy Mercury was alive!!! We were PISSED!

Hi – I am in the initial planning stages for a Pacific NW road trip that I am planning on taking for my 40th B-Day in Sept. I am looking for advice/thoughts on the following itinerary:
1. Flying into Portland, OR (or another city in Oregon – open to suggestions) Most likely staying 1 day here.
2. Renting car in Portland and driving up to Seattle, WA where I would like to spend 2 days min.
3. Driving from Seattle to Montana (thru Idaho – anything worthwhile to stay a night here or to see?). Would like to stay a day or two in Montana (possibly horseback riding) Looking for suggestions here on where in Montana to stay for 2 days.
4. From Montana down to Wyoming – maybe 1 day here. Again, looking for suggestions on a city/town to stay.
5. From Wyoming down to Colorado – possibly 2-3 days here. There are a few places that I already have planned to visit here.
6. From Colorado over to Salt Lake City, UT. Maybe 2 days here before flying home.
I have 2.5 weeks to play with here so I think timewise that this is feasible. Definitely would love feedback from others that have visited these states or live there. I appreciate any help/advice! Thank you ![]()

You might want to add a day in Portland area to enjoy the Columbia River Gorge and the waterfalls – and take in the Rose Garden. A drive over to the coast and Cannon Beach – or Seaside (I highly recommend the Gilbert House B&B in Seaside) and go up the coast to cut into the highway to go to Seattle.

 ± o? Como esta usted  ¿? That sums up two years of high school Spanish as a college preparatory course almost 50 years! Sure, why we need to know the Spanish have never met a Mexican, and even fewer thought about it to Mexico? My, how times have changed!
After living in Houston for 25 years, we discovered that Mexico just two hours and had very interesting properties to offer. In 1984 we bought a condo in Mismaloya, south of Puerto Vallarta and carried semi-annual visits to Vallarta for 13 years before buying a villa in the foothills of the Sierra Madre, overlooking the bay Banderas and El Centro, the downtown PV.
When we to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, such as PV or Vallarta by the residents moved known, ten years ago, our Spanish vocabulary consisted of about five words. Fortunately, said to understand a few taxi drivers, restaurant servers more, and some caddies, or at least some English. To survive here, it is essential to understand and speak some Spanish. During our first month Vallarta, we bought books, textbooks, dictionaries, and hired a tutor come to our house twice a week.
We have worked diligently for almost six months to learn Spanish words, paraphrases, time, etc., we should have an opportunity to communicate with the locals. To our learning process was, we saw about five Mexican TV channels, CNN, Mexican shows at the sixth grade and directed American films with Spanish subtitles. We would then cut the volume and try to understand the movies by reading the subtitles. Not much fun, but the price you pay for living in paradise, where the average daily temperature during the â? We spent the first summer in the States and upon returning to PV, we are lazy and discontinued our studies. Almost all educated Mexicans in PV, such as doctors, lawyers, engineers, architects, bankers, nurses, teachers, etc. are fluent in English. In fact, most of these people seem to prefer speaking English with Americans and Canadians. Typical music in restaurants, bars, hotels, offices and even dentistry popular American songs. American magazines, newspapers and books are all over the city, while ten years ago, they were virtually non-existent.
In summary, with the knowledge that excrete Spanish is no longer a prerequisite for a visit or for reasons of age, Vallarta. Most retirees who live in the PV-have little opportunity to speak and understand Spanish well. Most of all tourists by plane or ship have no knowledge of Spanish, and they too have no communication problems.
Obviously, Vallarta is not typical of Mexico, but planning a trip to Vallarta and into retirement without the possibility of the Spanish language should not be a language barrier involved here. Go to price things in PV, who knows, change in English could become the main language in another generation!
