Question : Where can I find an insurace quote calculator that doesn’t require personal info?
We have Googled and Asked everything! We need an insurance quote calculator for OWNING a townhouse building that has 5 units (not a quote for renting 1 townhouse unit). We are planning on renting them out so we need an insurance quote online for comparisons. Thanks!

You need to contact an independent agent agent in your area. This is not the type of insurance that is going to be quoted using an online quote calculator. An independent agent represents more than a single company and will be able to provide competitive insurance quotes,
I used to provide link to a site that would locate independent agents in your area but Yahoo Answers seemed to think it was a violation of community guidelines to do that so you will have to check your local yellow pages to find an independent agent in your area. Or perhaps you could Google IIABA

You probably won’t. These sites are lead generators; that is they’re designed to collect information for agents to contact those who use them. Nothing on the internet pertaining to any type of insurance is reliable, and you won’t be able to get any usable information until you speak with a human anyway; so you might as well find a local independent agent (preferably one you know or who has been referred by a trusted friend or relative).

Those online rate comparison places, are all about harvesting your personal information to sell it to LOTS of agents, as leads. So you won’t find it online.
BUT. A five unit townhouse, is NOT “personal lines” insurance – it’s commercial lines, and you can’t buy commercial lines insurance online, anyway. So you’re going to HAVE to call some local agents, to get applications filled out, and submitted to get quotes. Keep in mind, most insurance companies won’t write ‘stand alone’ rental properties, unless they’re large (25+ units), so you should probably start with the agent that does your house/car insurance first. Rental properties tend to have a lot of insurance claims – that means, you might have a hard time finding more than one or two companies willing to give you coverage, AT ALL.
Also, to speed up the process, you’ll want to have “five years loss runs” from the prior carrier/carriers, to show the insurance company the prior claims history on the units. That will help a lot. If this is a new purchase, you need to ask for this from the prior owners.
