After you take the garage doors down, you would have to build a header and frame the hole in creating a wall to then fill in with your insulation and then dry wall. Course you probably know this already, however when I took out my double garage I just matched my siding as close as I could to my existing siding and now you can’t even tell the difference.

As suggested, you should look to Home Depot, Lowe’s, or Menards for suggestions from the Building Desk. Take a good picture with you and explain what you want to do, and what you currently have as siding or whatever.
Framing is the easy part. Keeping it aligned with your current motif so it doesn’t stand out like a sore thumb is where you are going to run into problems. It could be you may have a better look by doing the entire wall that the door currently is set into, to avoid two different looks.
Siding is one way, especially if you have that now. It can be matched with the variety available in large stores.
If your home is brick, you have a different problem altogether and I would listen to several store’s suggestions before deciding what to go with. - Comment Feed for this Post
There is a siding that comes in 4×8 sheets and looks like concrete stucco finish most popular Brand name is Hardy Board. Check with Home Depot or a local lumber yard.
