Both are related to where you live. It is easy enough to find out the mil rate for a location you are interested in. Then you take that rate and multiply it by the value of the house. Cars and kids do not affect your taxes on a house.

Contents could be worth more then the house if you had a Picasso on the wall. Assuming nothing like that and you have the basic contents then you are probably at between $ 50.00 and $ 65/month per month. Excluding flood insurance. Homeowners is relatively inexpensive
