Question : Why is it fine by our government that companies can lay off people and we just have to deal with it?
Why is it fine by our government that companies can lay off their employees and the government doent do anything about it.If we have no income how do we pay taxes on our homes, how do we pay our utilities, how do we pay for food just to digest and survive. Companies our laying of thousands at a time and the government is only concerned about interest rates. What the f*ck? Hello is there anybody actually thinking in the white house. Companies feel like laying people off o’ well we just have to deal with it. I don’t understand why their isn’t a million man march on the fact that theirs no jobs. People should be pisst off and at the white house door step. Why are we at the O’ well stage of our lives?

It is not the function of the federal Govt as designed by our founding Fathers to dictate to private enterprise..that is Socialism.
Corporations are free to conduct their business as they see fit…and if people are laid off–then they are laid off.
I know for a fact that if you are laid off, you are eligible for up to 18 months of unemployment…so your argument is untrue.
And like all of us, if you lose one job–you go get another. I have always worked two jobs–and I am not complaining either..I am grateful I can work…and there are lots of jobs out there if people would stop being so picky.
You could start your own business, like lots of my friends who became discontent about working for corporate america?
This is America!
You are free to be unemployed or not–free to be poor or not–it is all UP TO YOU!
That’s what makes this a great country.

1. We don’t live in a communist state.
2. This is a semi-free market economy.
3. Companies do layoffs because they’re not making money. Why continue to throw money at people who aren’t working, because people aren’t buying anything.
4. The Public Works Programs helped bring the US out of the Depression in the 1930′s. We can only hope that something like that will happen now to bring us out of this Depression. But it will mean that people will have to WORK for the money. Physical labor, not just collecting checks because they can’t find a job. -

I can’t imagine what you want. Do you think a company that’s going under should warehouse these employees they can’t afford to pay anyway? That’s why this Government has Unemployment Compensation. People need to diversify and work what ever job is out there, then Illegal Mexicans will go home to their country.

Obviously you are not aware of how this country works. This is not a communist or socialist state. It is a Democracy. Companies who are laying off workers are doing so to keep from going under I would imagine. The government cannot really stop them. It is not up to the government to create jobs or make failing companies keep on workers they have no use for due to the fact that thier businessess are no longer thriving as they once were. However instead of looking to the government to bail you out too, why not go to school and learn something new, get trained in a field that has a future. Go where the jobs are. In the old days if there was no work, they picked up and found where there was. They adjusted and made things work. Today everone just complains and wants Uncle Sam to solve all your problems. Besides the President is NOT A DICTATOR. He does not act alone. BOth the House and Senate are and have been Democratic majorities for many years now and they actually make it hard for a Republican President to get things done. This is AMerica. Land of the free and home of the brave. If you want to live somewhere where the government controls everything move to Cuba or some other communist country.
