Question : What areas should I avoid in Miami while on vacation?
I’m going to Miami on vacation in maybe a while, and I know it has a pretty bad reputation for crime in some parts, although it’s not as bad as it was before.
What areas should I avoid if I want to vacation there?

I’d recommend sticking to the touristy parts like Miami Beach. Anywhere on A1A is going to be good, but heading up to North Miami Beach is better and not as crazy as South Beach. More relaxing if that’s what you are looking for. Aventura Mall is one of the nicest malls and it’s in north Miami as well as the new Gulfstream Park casino which is pretty close to Aventura Mall. It’s the first Las Vegas style slot machines in FL, all the rest are Indian, which leads to the Hard Rock in Hollywood, FL. Nice place, excellent hotel, but the slots are brutal.

Liberty City,Overtown,Some parts of the Grove,Little Hati….Don’t get lost at night and always lock your door…Be careful where you park your car….You are right Miami go a little better….My dad/brothers/neighbors used to chase people out my dads van they would steal his tools and sell them in the flea market on the weekend…All the tools would have my fathers name…LOL…I LOVE MIAMI….The good ol days…I hope you enjoy your stay….

As long as you stay in the touristy areas you will be fine, theres always people around. It is usually best to travel with someone rather than alone anyway.
