commercial building construction

This time-lapse video shows the construction of the NOvA Near-Detector Surface Building, using photos taken every 10 minutes and photos taken every 5 minutes. The NOvA neutrino experiment will place two detectors in the path of a beam of neutrinos generated at Fermilab. The near detector will gather data on-site at Fermilab, and the far detector will study the beam in Ash River, Minn., at a laboratory of the University of Minnesotas School of Physics and Astronomy. Ward Commercial Construction Inc. of East Dundee, Ill., began constructing the NOvA Near-Detector Surface Building in December 2009. The collaboration plans to have the new detector ready to take data in mid-July. The near detector will take data for more than a year on the surface before moving underground.
