Question : Is it possible to rent a shop front short term for art exhibition?
I’d like to make use of some of the empty shops/ glass fronted office spaces popping up in London. I plan to convert a space into an art gallery for a few days, does anybody know the best way to go about this? The proposed rental period is one week, and the cheaper the better!

You’d have to contact the owner or rental agent to find out if they would be interested in such an arrangement. If there’s no contact information posted in the window, check with one of the larger reputable agencies and inquire whether they have a listing for that address.

During economic slow downs, lots of commercial property goes unoccupied for long periods of time. You should be able to find an owner willing to lease a space for a short period.
Just remember, as with any lease, you’ll have to agree to a lot of terms besides the simple space rental, such as liability insurance, inspections, and the like. This costs money.
