I want to grow concord grapes, but where do I start?
Question : I want to grow concord grapes, but where do I start?
My parents had a concord grape vine in Michigan when I was a child. I moved to Nebraska 6 years ago and have yet to ever find concord grapes for sale anywhere.
I want to grow my own concord grapes now. I have a towne home and want to grow them on my second story balcony. I have lots of room for it, but I don’t know where to begin. Is this a feasible idea? Can concord grapes be grown in a plant box as long as they have something to climb on?

yep but rember they put down deep roots,
i would recomend a 10 gal or larger container, , as for the vines try a lowes, or a garden shop, they should be on sale around now,
Talk to some of the farmers, or go to the coop where you buy chickens and farm supplies, or a nursery. Those people should be able to tell you what grapes, if any grow there. I know I grew up with Concords growing in the alley and I love them. They do not do well in this part of the state, although there are other grapes that do fine here.
As far as growing them in a box, they might get to where they outgrow it and the roots would be more vulnerable to winter damage if they are planted above ground. I would recommend a huge box that is open to the ground.
