Question : on my taxes, can I write off my homeowners insurance premium?
I have read somewhere recently where you can write off your homeowners insurance premium.

yes if you file with rapid refund they will walk you throw it step by step i did it online took about 30 minutes .

Sorry, but according to current tax law, you cannot write off your “Homeowners Insurance” premium. I can’t either!
There is a so called “Qualified Mortgage Insurance Premium” that is deductible, but that’s different from the normal homeowners insurance. This is premium paid under a mortgage insurance contract issued during 2007 in connection with home acquisition debt that was secured by your first or second home.

Homeowner’s Insurance? No.
There is some confusion this year. As of 2007, you can write off your Private Mortgage Insurance (PMI) if the loan originated in 2007. Many people are confusing homeowner’s insurance with mortgage insurance.
