From the supplier: American Family Mutual Insurance Co was the only insurance company that was charged with redlining in Wisconsin and in Mar 1995 agreed to a .5 million settlement. The case was brought by private parties and by the US Department of Justice under the Fair Housing Act. Milwaukee, WI, residents were rejected for homeowners’ insurance based upon race and location. If the settlement does not resolve the redlining issue, additional insurance companies may also be prosecuted.
