From the supplier: The Ohio Insurance Dept has proposed an overhaul of the regulations covering managed health care providers. Managed care providers, which are termed ‘risk-assuming entities’ by the Insurance Dept, would have to obtain certification from the Department to conduct business in the state. The proposed regulatory changes affects health maintenance organizations, preferred provider organizations, point-of-service health plans and hospital-physician organizations. The regulatory changes would require a substantial change to Ohio statutory law.
