Question : Need Glass Storage Containers?
My folks gave me these really nice engraved 6″ drinking glasses, but theres like 50 of them. I only want to keep out maybe 5-10, but I don’t want to get rid of the others, and my parents dont want them back. Does anyone know of a company/store who makes a storage container that would keep my glasses safe in storage or while moving??

Your best bet would be to wrap them up in bubble wrap and store them in a box designed to hold stemware or glasses (cardboard ones with the individual compartments: http://store.uhaul.com/product_detail.aspx?id=2701 ).

Here’s a slightly nicer one you can purchase:

You can even make one yourself by placing strips of cardboard about 2 inches high parallel along the bottom of a shallow box, placing the glasses between the strips, then laying more cardboard strips perpendicular to these to further separate the glasses. The end result should look like a grid from above.

Another option might be to sell them. I know you said you don’t want to get rid of them, but if you don’t plan on keeping them, and your parents don’t want them, you can make a bit of money by selling them on eBay. You don’t want to become a pack rat! Maybe keep an extra 10 or so of them in storage just in case, and try posting the rest for sale on eBay or craigslist and make some extra money. They sound really nice and I’m sure there are plenty of people who would be interested in them.

Another option still is posting them on freecycle. Freecycle is a program where you post things for free to give away to people who might have a better use for them than you do. The idea behind freecycle is for people to recycle their unwanted belongings in an effort to keep them out of landfills.

Hope this helps!
