is it worth it to buy 4 years warranty on my washer and dryer and fridge for $447 total ?
Question : is it worth it to buy 4 years warranty on my washer and dryer and fridge for 7 total ?
or is it better to have a savings account in case of needed repairs ?
or a whole home warranty covering the above items plus AC,dishwasher,micro,oven,garage opener,plumbing,electric,heating,pests,and more for $ 500 for 1 year and $ 60 for service call ?

No, extended warranties are almost always a waste of money.

Extended warranty’s are only a good deal for the seller. If you purchased these products new, your 1 year warranty will provide coverage you may need. Most devices break in the first 60 days if something is wrong with them, else they last their expected life. Putting some money in a special account is a great idea, but your probably safe.

The best way to tell is to find out the most expensive problem you can think of with your most expensive appliance, then call your local repair-man from the phone book & ask what he would charge to fix it. Save that amount & put it back for a rainy day in an envelope labeled “appliance maintenance” . If you happen to need to spend that money on a repair, replace it gradually.
