Will becoming a residential mortgage processor increase my chances of being hired as a real estate paralegal.?
Question : Will becoming a residential mortgage processor increase my chances of being hired as a real estate paralegal.?
I am about to approach my senior yr for the degree/ paralegal certificate. The job market is tough, will having some residential closing experience help my chances of getting a commercial real estate position. I also have not worked in the last yr, I am concerned about entering this field with no experience. All of the ad’s say they are looking for someone with experience.
residential mortgage

Well it definitely won’t hurt you. I think it would be a good idea to take that job and get some experience. Good luck.
Unless your mortgage processing experience was in the closing department, probably not. Processing a loan application has nothing to do with the legal work that is done at the attorneys office. So I don’t think it would be a real asset to you. (I had 18 years in mortgage banking)
