Moving to Arizona, but I’m concerned about scorpions and other dangerous insects?
Question : Moving to Arizona, but I’m concerned about scorpions and other dangerous insects?
I am planning on moving to Arizona, possibly Gilbert. I have a 3 year old son and worried for his safety. I have been to to Arizona 3 times before and I love it. I live in Boston and I’m sick of the winter and snow. Are my concerns justified, or am I just being ridiculous?

i don’t think you should be worried at all.i haven’t seen anything that dangerous for a long time.in my house we have a problem with crickets mice and misquitos but thats all.don’t worry i think your son will love the heat and most likely not encounter any dangerous bugs.
Scorpions and dangerous insects really aren’t as common as you think. Scorpions really dwell in new build areas or construction areas. So if you plan to move to a new neighborhood or a neighborhood where they are working on construction, I would keep an eye out. They come through drains as well as open cracks and such. I know in Ahwatukee they are common because of the mountain, but other then that, they are not something to worry about. Keep a black light around if you are truly worried or get scorpion inspection done before you move into your house. Other insects, not much insect because we are so hot here in the summer.
Really, don’t worry about it.
