This is probably the company you have seen advertised on TV. I have also seen their products advertised in magazines aimed at furniture retailers/manufacturers.
http://www.forearmstraps.com/?cid=359580While the straps help to relocated the stress points of lifting an item (for example, from your fingers, to your forearms), you still have to be strong enough in the back and legs to lift the object — they don’t magically make an item weigh less, hehehe.

Melaydie I used these straps that you mentioned they seem to help but the reality of it is that heavy is and will always be heavy no matter how you slice it. Now for light bulky items the straps work pretty good so don’t think that you can pick up more weight with these straps.
