Should I continue to have yearly termite inspections on my home?
Question : Should I continue to have yearly termite inspections on my home?
I’ve owned my home since July 2002. When I bought the home, I had a termite company inspect and treat (?…drilled holes in front & back porch & areas of the slab foundation and-I think-put in chemicals to keep termites away). I’ve never had termites, and I continue to pay a little under $ 100 for a yearly inspection by the same company. This year, the cost has been raised to $ 120.
Is it worth it to keep having the yearly inspection when all the guy appears to do is walk around looking at the inside and outside of my home.
What do I need to know about termite control so that I can justify continuing to pay for this service?

I would keep the inspection. It is well worth the $ knowing that if termites do invade your house you have someone inspectioning it annually. It does not take long for termites and powder post beetles to do structual damage
Ask your neighbors if they have the pesty critters that should give you an indication of what time frame you should opt for in doing your termite inspections.
