Question : Where can I get a free download of Macromedia Flash 8?
I have scoured the Internet and all I find is over-priced Macromedia Flash 8 software at $ 300+. Apparently,
Yahoo video will not work without it. All I get is a blank
screen–no picture, no sound. The automatic inspection
of my computer says that I have everything necessary to
get good video. Clearly, that is incorrect. Yahoo instructions
say that Micromedia Flash 8 is necessary. So I am trying to
find it. Pre-thanks for any help.

macromedia was purchased by Adobe. You will need to download and install Adobe Flash Player 9 series.
You must first Uninstall any other old Flash player out of Add & Remove Programs from control panel. Then go to C:WindowsDownloaded Program Files
Open up that folder and look for the flash active X file , if you have a few items listed in that folder, you will have to right click and look at the Properties , and look at the BaseCode address to locate the one that belongs to flash. Right click on it and remove it. Then head to :http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/
And download the Adobe Flash.
